We transformed a challenging front yard slope into a high-impact, low-maintenance landscape that requires a strategic balance of custom hardscaping and sustainable design. For this project in Niwot, CO, We built a multi-tiered front yard centered on structural board-form concrete retaining walls and an architectural floating stepper walkway. By terracing the elevation, we created clean, functional levels that dramatically improve curb appeal while preventing soil erosion. Integrated step lighting accentuates the custom concrete steps, delivering safe, inviting access and a striking night time aesthetic for this Niwot home.

To complement the contemporary hardscaping, the middle tier showcases a custom water-wise xeriscape design built for Front Range weather conditions. We selected drought-tolerant native plantings, decorative river rock, and gravel mulch bed edging to minimize water usage without sacrificing vibrant color and texture. An automated irrigation system ensures deep root hydration, keeping the yard thriving year-round with minimal upkeep.
